Médiamétrie Streamlines Radio Research with Voxco’s Integrated Telephone and IVR Solution

About Médiamétrie

Based in France, Médiamétrie is a leading organization in audience measurement, dedicated to delivering precise analysis of audiovisual media to define market trends. Annually, they conduct over 1.5 million interviews, operating continuously to gather data every day of the year. With a commitment to accuracy and no tolerance for downtime, Médiamétrie ensures that media providers and advertisers receive reliable, actionable insights to drive their strategies.

The Challenge: Overcoming Inefficiencies in Multi-Mode Data Collection

Médiamétrie’s approach to radio research involved assessing song popularity using a combination of telephone interviews and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) surveys. Initially, an investigator would conduct a telephone interview to screen respondents, who would then participate in IVR surveys to evaluate 40 musical excerpts. Each respondent used a phone keypad to rate songs based on a predefined numerical scale.

This dual-system method proved time-consuming and inefficient. Each platform required separate questionnaires and maintained its own results database, complicating data management and analysis. Moreover, their existing automated dialing system was limited in capacity, restricting the number of simultaneous calls. To enhance their productivity and streamline data collection, Médiamétrie recognized the urgent need to consolidate their survey processes and expand their call handling capabilities.

The Solution: Adopting a New Integrated System for Streamlined Data Collection

In response to these challenges, Médiamétrie adopted the Voxco Multi-Mode system, which enabled a unified and streamlined approach to their radio research. The integration of Voxco Dialer, Voxco CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing), and Voxco IVR (Interactive Voice Response) systems into a single platform allowed Médiamétrie to:

  • Efficiently place calls: Voxco Dialer increased the capacity for outbound calls, ensuring more respondents could be contacted simultaneously.
  • Seamlessly qualify respondents: Through Voxco CATI, investigators could efficiently screen and qualify respondents over the phone before transitioning them to the IVR surveys.
  • Automate response collection: Voxco’s IVR system enabled respondents to listen to and rate pre-recorded music using their phone keypad, standardizing the response process.

By centralizing their telephone and IVR surveys into one multi-mode system, Médiamétrie eliminated the need to create and manage separate questionnaires and databases for each survey type. This not only simplified data management but also significantly improved operational efficiency by reducing the time and labor previously required to manage disparate systems. The result was a more cohesive, efficient, and scalable approach to audience measurement.

The Results: Major Advances in Audience Measurement Efficiency

The integration of the Voxco Multi-Mode solutions yielded remarkable results for Médiamétrie's operations, enhancing their productivity and operational efficiency:

  • Enhanced Survey Management: The unified platform enabled streamlined creation and deployment of questionnaires, drastically reducing administrative overhead and potential errors.
  • Optimized Data Handling: Consolidation of data storage and analysis tools allowed for faster processing and easier retrieval of insights, enhancing decision-making processes.
  • Boosted Call Efficiency: The advanced capabilities of the Voxco Dialer increased Médiamétrie’s calling capacity to 1500 CATI calls per hour, a major uplift in their operational throughput.

These advancements have notably improved Médiamétrie’s ability to conduct accurate and efficient audience measurements, directly contributing to a more robust and responsive research framework.

“At Médiamétrie, we conduct hundreds of audience measurements for our radio partners every day. The Voxco multi-mode platform allows us to qualify the respondents by telephone (CATI) and very easily transfer them to the IVR system to determine song popularity. Since using the integrated Voxco platform, we have significantly increased our productivity and made the management of the thousands of songs that we process each year much more efficient.”
